Have you ever thought that if you had more success and more money, you would finally be able to be happier, more generous, you’d play more, have more peace of mind, and you would feel more secure? In other words, you would finally be able to be, do, and have what you wanted, and you would feel great!

Your belief would have to look something like this, “When I finally get x, (or get x back), I will then be able to have Y.” (0+x=y) The problem is that the energy of money, or anything that represents an effect in the physical world, doesn’t work that way. It goes like this: For all of you data buffs, let’s do the math, -x(y) = [-y]. So, the truth is, if we have negative beliefs about money and we have a fearful relationship with it (-x), once we add positive money (+$$$) to our negative beliefs and habits, it can only end up as a greater negative experience for us.

I don’t know who hasn’t thought that more money and success would make everything better at one time or another. Perhaps you believe this to be true today. Certainly, there is a logical argument that success brings money, $$$ pays the bills, and it buys us all of the ‘good times’ we can dream of. I agree! Money does do all of that. Unfortunately, the energy of $$$ won’t make us happier, it can’t make us feel more valuable and lovable, and it can’t give us a true sense of security or peace of mind; it just doesn’t work that way.

Unhappiness, dissatisfaction, feeling unloved or unworthy, and having little or no sense of meaning or purpose in our lives cannot be fixed with more money and success. It is an inside job, not an outer problem to be fixed. Chasing after more clients and customers, or attempting to be more successful at whatever we are doing will not solve our problems.

Here is an interesting story:

I once knew of a young lady who suffered with low self esteem issues all of her life. She had no sense of purpose or meaning. She divorced her husband, and moved across country in hopes to start a better life for herself and her son.

Interestingly enough, her stepfather died and left her millions. Now, I know what you might be thinking . . . Yet, this dear person continued her victim path of low self esteem and allowed herself to be taken advantage of. All of that $$$ acted as an amplifier for who she believed herself to be. It didn’t change who she thought she was. Her problems just grew in proportion to the size of her new bank account.

Friends expected handouts, she failed to pay her bills on time, and she fell into a deep depression. She could never ‘see’ herself as a muti-millionaire. She stayed in her poor-me, scarcity consciousness, regardless of what she had monetarily. She continued to live in her victim, I’m not good enough mode, as her money swiftly went away.

Yes, this is a sad story, yet I’m making a point. The energy of money amplifies who we believe that we are, and it presses us to do more of what is consistent with that image. So, if you were to be blessed with millions of dollars tomorrow, what would that amplify in you? Who are you today that money would make more of? Who would you want to be for money to amplify?

Wealth Practice # 18

1. Notice how you are in relationship with money. Are you expanding or contracting? Do you hold back or do let it go? What can you do this week that best expresses who you say you are? What could you do that you would be eager for money to amplify?

2.) Do 3 things this week that stretches you into becoming more of who you want to be in relationship with money; perhaps paying your bills on time, paying rich attention to your overall finances, investing in your future rather than spending money on the small stuff that satisfies your ego-gratifications to feel good now. Start saving and investing this week!

3. Take the baby steps to express who you have decided to be. Where do you want to put your money, toward your basic survival or toward your advancement forward? It’s a choice. Decide and do 3 things that are consistent with your choice. It’s okay if your actions are small. They must meet you where you are. The important thing is to hold your intention to live in a way that you would want money to amplify. The spotlight is on you!

Remember, we are what we practice!
Keep wealth as a priority and remember why you want to be wealthy.
